Just like you, I thought the struggle to find time, energy and motivation to prioritize my health was just the "new normal" of motherhood.
But I'm here to tell you that this story is SO FREAKIN' FALSE!
Five years ago, my lifestyle was FAST PACED + BUSY as hell which led to me making unhealthy choices that left me feeling stressed, exhausted and not my happiest self.
This is when I made the decision to live with more intention and simplicity in all areas of my life, so I could have more energy and time for what truly matters most.
After educating myself in nutrition (AFPA Nutrtion & Wellness Consultant Program) I began to make small changes in what foods I was eating and ultimately feeding my family. But, instead of restricting myself when it came to food...
I started to embrace the meals I loved, such as pasta, pizza and nachos and simply tweaked them to be healthier.
I also realized how much guilt I felt after becoming a mama when I didn't get a "workout" in my day.
After giving birth to Lucille, that's when I knew how freakin' POWERFUL, STRONG, SEXY and CAPABLE my body was.
I made a promise after becoming a mama that I would never convince myself I had to look a certain way or do a certain workout because I felt pressured by society. My body was far too precious to make it feel anything less than adequate.
This is when I decided to make a change. By simply changing my words, I could shift my mindset from one of guilt and comparison to one of GRATITUDE instead. I swapped the word "workout," for a word of more positivity for me, "movement."
Knowing that food and movement were important to my health, I had to create realistic rhythms to integrate these things in my life with ease and simplicity, so I'm able to enjoy the process of health and not stress about it.
MAKING ALL OF THESE SMALL CHANGES IN MY LIFE HAVE COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED HOW I FEEL AS A WOMAN, A WIFE, AND A MAMA.
I feel more energized, confident and happier with who I am and the life I'm choosing to live. Not to mention, I have more time to enjoy my life with the people I cherish the most.
