Just like you, I thought the struggle to find time, energy and motivation to prioritize my health was just the "new normal" of motherhood.
But I'm here to tell you that this story is SO FREAKIN' FALSE!
No matter how busy your life may be, there is a way to SIMPLIFY HEALTH so you are spending your days full of energy and joy, instead of overwhelm and chaos.
You don't have to choose between your family and your health. You can absolutely have BOTH and so much more!
my story begins when I was trying to get pregnant...
My husband and I were trying to have a baby, and for one full year we had no success. So, like many couples, we sought out the help of professionals and started the lovely infertility treatment process.
During this time, I was still working full-time as a teacher, doing my wifely duties, maintaining and cleaning our wonderful family home, working out, meal prepping, going to all the events, and trying to balance ALL THE THINGS.
My doctor also discovered at this time that my body had been housing a very large fibroid tumor (the size of a baby's head) that needed to be removed before trying to get pregnant. Hello unexpected surgery!
Needless to say, I was stressed, sad and overwhelmed to the brim.
It was during these 2 1/2 years of trying to get pregnant that I finally realized I needed a change.
I had to pivot my life to feel healthier and happier or else I was going to implode.
My life and my days were FAST PACED + BUSY as hell, and this lifestyle I was choosing was making me feel unenthusiastic and unhealthy. This is when I made the decision to live with more intention and purpose.
I started to make small simple and purposeful changes with my life. I started paying attention to how I was spending my time, the stuff I would put in my body, the people I surrounded myself with and the types of activities I said "yes" to.
To put it simply, I started questioning everything I did with my life, which is what led me to choosing things that only added to my health + happiness, and not depleting from it. I've taken many tiny action steps over the last couple of years to feel happier and healthier, and I have to say that I'm living HAPPY AS HELL because of them!
By the way, we were finally successful with conceiving our first baby after 2 1/2 years of infertility treatments. YAY!!
Luckily for our future daughter, Lucille, she would be born into a much happier and healthier family because of the changes her mama chose to make and still continues to make to this day.
This is the beautiful struggle that led me to where I am today and I couldn't be more grateful for it.
